Compulive Dishwasher Disorder

Dear Professors,

I enjoy doing the dishes but Mommy ALWAYS circles around afterward and re-stacks them in her own particular way. Are they her dishes? Is she re-nesting the dishes. Does she hate me?

You guys were on the radio and I heard you describe this as CDD- Compulsive Dishwasher Disorder. It’s nice to know this crippling condition has a name, but...why does she do this?

Half the battle is identifying the problem so we are half way home. Finding the root cause of any Mommy malady is very difficult. Besides, we are Professors, not Doctors.

To counteract CDD we know a guy who has two dishwashers in his kitchen. His and hers- Really! He stacks and she stacks and never the two do mix!
