Speed Bumps?

As a MTM neophyte, I was hoping you could enlighten me as to what is meant by "speed bumps."

Thanks for the sage wisdom - I'm gonna buy the book to find out WHAT HAPPENED????

Speed bumps are the result of a Mommy’s cacaphony of control spilling out into the street. Once she’s slowed things down around the house she can’t help but attempt the same with the passing motorists lucky enough to cruise your ‘hood.

But take heart! There is a new invention (most likely from guys) called “speed humps”. We are currently researching this curiosity and will report any findings of note.
