From: Steve in State College, PA
About a year ago I met a wonderful lady. We got along well, had great sex, got engaged, & planned a wedding. 5 weeks before the wedding date (but 2 weeks after sending out the invitations) she asked to postpone the wedding. We changed the honeymoon reservations to family vacation time. I thought it went well but a week later I was handed back a diamond ring.
What happened?????
This raptor pre-Mommy may have been involved in the new craze in courtship. Catch and Release has been popular among sport fishermen for a few years now and it seems to have gained momentum in the dating scene as well. Guys will rarely play this dangerous Catch and Release game, most would prefer bungee jumping with too long a rope less risky.
A pre-Mommy can gain favorable publicity for the engagement and announcements, then “throw you back” once she’s dragged you onto the boat. Depending on her “spin”, she may even get to play brokenhearted for a few months and get attention for that.
OR, you may have been judged “unworthy” for whatever reason and that’s all there is to it. Maybe you were lucky.
Of course, if the two of you were getting married for three years there may have been a happy ending to this story. Check out the section in our book detailing the plan and its favorable impact on marriage, the environment, the divorce rate, attorney's fees, social security, etc.
Happy reading!
