Denial

From: Mary in Kentucky

Question

I just wanted to let you know that I thought this was funny since I am just a mild major mommy...But your test neglected one important thing. It asks if I do the Laundry and cooking, to which the answer is yes...but then so does my husband (without prompting or nagging).

So if I didn't answer those questions because he helps some of the time, I guess I wouldn't be a Major Mommy, then would I?

Comments

Mary,

You are right. We neglected asking if the husband cooks or does laundry. And you are mathematically correct in deducing lack of Major Mommy status because of his somewhat equivalent involvement in these “chores”.

But our test also doesn't ask questions about Mommies who keep especially close track of their ranking and try to make a protracted argument for a bad case of denial.

Unfortunately, these two concepts counter-balance each other, so you continue to hold the rank of Major. Ten-hut!
