From: TJ- In LA
I am a successful 35 year old doctor married to a woman who believes I put her second to my friends and family.
I do not see my friends as they are in other states. I do not see my family (two brothers) who are in different states. All I do is talk to them on my cell phone about 4 to 5 times a week. This infuriates her. No matter how much I tell her that she is number one, she does not believe me.
What should I do?
Will be grateful for your opinion. TJ in LA

You are being kept on your heels by a standard ploy used by most Mommies. It’s called Manage By Mood (MBM) and is designed to keep you in an ongoing apologetic posture.
Our advice is to make a few more phone of these calls than normal, showing that things could get worse. After that simply re-set your phone call rate to normal and see if the change in reference quells Mommy.
If your are dealing with a Tsunami Mommy she’ll be able to outlast that chain of events, or her MBM focus will re-direct to another topic, then you should simply head for high ground!
