One of our agents in the field found an article in the Everett Herald (written by Shanti Hahler ) on July 20, 2002. The excerpts speak for themselves:
SEATTLE -- Friday evening, Andy Webster of Lake Stevens was in for a surprise. A big surprise.
Thinking he was going to spend the night attending a black-tie cruise on Elliot Bay honoring his fiance's aunt, Webster suited up in a black and white tux, bow tie and all. He had even received a formal invitation to the event and planned to carpool with his brother. However, as Webster walked down Pier 55 to the Argosy ship Spirit of Seattle, he noticed something was weird.
His fiance, Rachel Brownfield, was standing on the dock wearing a crisp, white beaded wedding dress, surrounded by their friends and family. They, too, wore wedding attire.
He had been fooled into attending his own wedding.
They were engaged for three years. Though several wedding dates had been set, Webster's brother Joe said that, for whatever reason, the plans fell through.
The couple were married within a half-hour of boarding the boat, and then continued the celebration on a four-hour cruise around Blake Island to watch the sunset.
"I had no idea, no clue, none," said the groom.
SCARY ISN’T IT? AGAIN A GUY IS LEFT TO ASK… WHAT HAPPENED?
