Mildly Depressed Women Live Longer!

A recent article (May 1) by WILLIAM L. HOLMES of The Associated Press describes that mildly depressed older women tend to live longer than those who are not depressed at all.

Excerpts from the article:

``This is totally counterintuitive to what you expect to see,'' said Dan Blazer, a Duke University professor. ``We know that depression in younger populations is very clearly associated with mortality. It's not so clear in older populations.''

The mildly depressed women in the study were, on average, 60 percent less likely than other women to die during any three-year period, according to Blazer.

``We don't want to make too much out of this except that it's a very interesting finding,'' Blazer said.

Interesting Indeed!

Although this new study is regarded as counterintuitive, it isn’t. When you take these new finding and apply them to prior research conducted by the Professors of Matrimony, logic rules the day.

The Professors long-term research found that a Mommy isn’t really happy unless she’s a little sad or perturbed. So these “mildly depressed” women who are surviving longer are doing so because they are in a more natural state as compared with the happy women.

Science is finally showing that Mommy is not truly happy unless she’s pissed!
